Trepang Fisheries Pty Ltd

Trepang Fisheries is a well established recognised and respected beche de mer fishing company based in Innisfail QLD, 100km south of Cairns. However our scope of work covers all QLD state waters from Torres Strait to Fraser Island and a large portion of the Coral Sea.

At Trepang Fisheries we are very passionate supporters of the fishery, we strive to encourage and develop safe practices for the people engaged in the industry, to promote sustainable fishing measures within the industry which protects the environment and maintains healthy stocks for future generations and longevity of the industry.

The harvesting of sea cucumbers is governed by an annual quota, the season runs from July 1 to June 30 each year. The duration of each trip is approximately 12 – 15 days with a layover period of anywhere from one day to two weeks (weather dependent). Our vessel unloads product as far south as Mackay and as far north as Cooktown.

Trepang Fisheries operates one primary main vessel which is the FV HOLOTHURIAN.

This primary vessel operates with 3 to 4 tenders within the reef systems. All tenders are operated by 2 crew and fitted with a hooker unit allowing the harvest operation to be conducted using surface supplied air to our divers whilst undertaking the hand collection of sea cucumbers.
